Today has been about trying to finish my crochet handbag. I didn’t manage to get anything done yesterday. So today has been fully focused on it. It’s not finished but I have made really good progress.
I want to be able to use the bag as a handbag so without a liner it wouldn’t be suitable. Whilst there was a pattern for the crochet element of the bag, there was no pattern for a liner, so I have had to do that myself. There has been a certain amount of trial and error.
I have needed to consider a number of issues in order that it would fulfill my criteria. I needed to provide some strength or stiffening. I wanted some pockets, so further thinking was needed.
Hence today has very much been about sewing. I was given my sewing machine 30 years ago. It has done really well. I haven’t used it much over the last few years however it was quite an enjoyable today. Nevertheless I do think it might need a service. The light hasn’t worked in years and today winding a bobbin was really difficult. With a little TLC I think it should run for another 30 years!
This afternoon we put a blanket for the dogs on the floor in front of the woodburner. Apparently Zebulon didn’t agree! He does seem to think he’s a prince.

Wow ! You’ve been very productive today with your beg. I am looking forward to seeing it finished. The lining is lovely. That not so kitten, kitten I see definitely of royal heritage ! He looks as though he has claimed his place !
Unfortunately I have had a massive migraine today and am shortly off to bed so you have done better than me. Mid life has a great deal of nuisances to manoeuvre around, for sure ! Haha

Bag looks amazing! If you can crochet, you can definitely work out the lining! You can buy iron on stiffener which you could attach to lining material? Pockets straightforward inserts – probably best on inside rather than between lining and outside (so squares stitched on lining)
