Tales from the sheshed – France: creating, crafting and living in Brittany
I have crafted almost since I was born. As a child I never made one of something when I could make several. My mother called me the factory! Throughout my adult life I have made gifts for friends and family. Now having taken early semi-retirement, I have time to turn my hobby into a business. I am passionate about up-cycling and recycling and often use pre-loved materials in my work, though my yarn is always new. I like to work with natural materials, though sometimes acrylic yarns which are unbelievably soft and in glorious colours do seduce me.
This blog is intended to chart some of my experiences of the issues that I face living and running businesses in France. It is also a starting point for discussions about mindfulness and well-being. These issues are extremely important for both me and my husband and ultimately our children too.
Creating, crafting and spending time in my sheshed are all vitaly important in ensuring that I enjoy positive mental health an issue that I will address through this blog.
