I have had a relatively busy weekend. I went out on Saturday and nearly passed out, so my son had to drive my car. A left hand drive car on the continent is great, not quite so easy in Birmingham! Yesterday we filmed this coming Friday’s video. I am making galettes with caramelized apples andContinue reading “Not quite back to normal”

Getting better…
Apologies for the long absence. Whilst I had COVID I wasn’t really doing very much and I certainly wasn’t going anywhere. I’m pleased to report that I am now testing negative. I would say that I am still a little tired but I am on the mend. I have been working on a crochet project,Continue reading “Getting better…”
Extremely brief
I started feeling ill yesterday afternoon but thought it was probably a bit of stress and a cold. I arrived in the UK feeling ghastly. Given that I should be seeing people in a care home I needed to test. Unfortunately it’s positive. I’m feeling very poorly and will probably not post tomorrow. The secondContinue reading “Extremely brief”
Packed!
I’m off to the UK tomorrow. Unfortunately it’s for a funeral. However taking the positives I will get to see members of the family. This Friday’s video is now edited and it will go live 5pm Paris time. This week is French Pumpkin roasted soup. It is a very simple soup, so I hope peopleContinue reading “Packed!”
Where does it go?
I was just sat here crocheting and I suddenly realised that it’s Monday, the weekend is over and I should be writing. This weekend has whizzed past. There has been food, more food and crochet. I will explain. On Saturday we went to get flooring for our new bathroom. We ummed and ahhed and beforeContinue reading “Where does it go?”
Up-cycling nesting tables
I am really pleased to say that my latest vlog has gone live. Please do pop over to You Tube and have a look. I’d really like to start a conversation about what I am doing. So do let me know what you think. Next week’s video is already filmed. However if there is somethingContinue reading “Up-cycling nesting tables”
Food I miss…
In general there are very few food stuffs from the UK that I miss. Food is generally so much fresher, seasonal and travels so few food kilometres. However France does not do gluten free particularly well. There are few choices. I particularly miss being able to get breakfast cereal. You can get some here butContinue reading “Food I miss…”
A little late!
I’ve been busy so apologies for the late posting. I have finally recorded a vlog of the soup recipe that I mentioned a week or so ago. So you can guess what we had for dinner this evening! Amongst other things I went to Knit and Natter today. I’ve made progress with the dress pattern.Continue reading “A little late!”
Yarn, patterns and mushrooms
At the moment I am trying to get ahead and record some videos so that I am prepared. Today I recorded a vlog in which I am talking about heritage and heirlooms and how these can link to knitting and crochet patterns. Some pieces that are created become heirlooms. Some of the patterns can beContinue reading “Yarn, patterns and mushrooms”
I need a list!
I spent part of yesterday recording another video. I also managed to bath and clip a dog as well as making a two day casserole. I was really pleased with my achievements! Today has not been as successful. I seem to have lost several hours not achieving anything and becoming frustrated in the process. IContinue reading “I need a list!”
