A strange melange I agree. However I think that this is an appropriate title. It can be said to sum up my weekend.
Saturday we spent much of the day out and about. Chris has needed to get some new tools and given the sales started this week it was certainly the time to look for them. We also need some doors for the work he is doing on the house. Driving around is a great time to crochet. I’m not driving and there’s nothing else I could be doing with my time. So I am making good progress with the dress. As an aside my son got his degree results last night and we’re all really pleased. So I need to finish the dress if I’m going to wear it.

Yesterday from early morning we were aware of deep bass thump echoing around us. Mid-afternoon a number of gendarmerie vehicles passed in front of our house. We live in a narrow lane in the middle of nowhere, gendarmerie vehicles don’t pass our house. Chris decided that he wanted to drive up the lane to the lake to see whether anything was happening there. So stupidly I agreed to get in the car along with the dogs. Now bear in mind it was pouring with rain and really not an ideal time to be going out. As we got closer to the lake we passed several gendarmes who were parked up and clearly having conversations with each other. We drove on to one of the car parks that we use when walking the dogs. As we went to turn in we were stopped by two gendarmes, one of whom was carrying what I assume to be an automatic rifle. They asked what we were doing. They didn’t understand Chris, so I had to explain that we were going to walk the dogs. They pulled a funny face but allowed us to pass. At which point we had no choice but to get out, neither of us had a coat, and to walk out of the carpark with the dogs! We spent 20 minutes mooching about under some trees in the pouring rain. I’m not certain whether Chris’ curiosity was satisfied. I on the other hand will leave things alone in the future!
I appear to be slowly resolving my double booking issues. One has finally effectively admitted that he made a mistake too and is no longer expecting me to resolve his issue. I now have two solutions for the other group. I shall be writing to them this evening.
Until tomorrow…
The crochet looks amazing Zenna!
Hate the thought of full throttle guns around me – although in England more and more police officers are carrying them. Hopefully as taser technology improves they will be unnecessary.
I expect the police thought two Brits in the rain without coats walking the dogs was just (🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♂️ mad dogs and Englishmen) 😂😂😂. Did you find out what was going on?

Apparently an illegal rave with about 600 young people. We saw some that clearly didn’t know which way was up! And obviously mad dogs and English people!
