Hearts flowers and concentration

I wanted to finish my CV this morning because there was a job I wanted to apply for with a closing date today. I had originally read the closing date as the beginning of July. It was only yesterday I realised that it was today. According to Chris I was so absorbed that he walked past me several times and was sure that I didn’t even notice he was there. He was probably right. When I finally finished I realised that I had sat without moving for four hours. It seems then that I have the ability to concentrate. Whether that is necessarily a good thing I am not sure! However the application is in.

I had thought that I had resolved at least one of the issues of double bookings for next month however that it has raised its head again. It seems that the group that were going to another gîte spoke to the agent and decided that it wouldn’t work for them and they would prefer to be at my place. Well they can’t stay there anyway. In the intervening period the owner decided that she is not willing to rent the gîte to them. So I am going backwards at a rate of knots!

With one thing and another I haven’t managed to do much crochet. I have completed the four flower squares and one of the heart squares. It seems that the pattern wasn’t particularly well written and has taken me some time to understand what I should be doing. However I seem to have figured it out. I shall be working on the heart squares this evening.

So what have I learnt from today? Even when you are doing something that appears to be stress free, it often isn’t. So if the choice is stressful and little pay and stressful and reasonable pay, then maybe I should think about the latter. At the moment I shall take some time to think about this. In the meantime I shall continue trying to resolve my double booking issues.
