Intolerances…

I thought I would be writing today about the great weekend that I had. And I did have a great weekend. Coffee and cake on Saturday, a jubilee party with Pimm’s on Sunday and a trip to the cinema. A really lovely weekend.

On Monday we decided to finish the weekend off with a trip to the coast and lunch out. Lunch was delicious. I didn’t check whether everything was gluten free, I was sure that I had chosen carefully. Well I don’t know where it was hidden but it was there. By the time we were halfway home I knew I’d had something that didn’t agree with me and it was going to be making a swift exit.

I spent all of yesterday in bed. I am still absolutely wiped out, not eating much and feeling as though I have been kicked in the stomach by a horse. I have found that whilst many things in France are much better than the UK, dealing with food intolerances is not one of them. Of course my intolerance is not going to kill me, I don’t have an allergic reaction that necessitates an epi pen however, the results are extremely unpleasant and can have an impact for several weeks.

So I am feeling rather sorry for myself. I am exhausted and feeling beaten up. So there is neither anything mindful or creative to share. I am working on a cardigan, though I know I don’t have enough yarn to finish it, so I am hoping that I will be able to search out some locally or online. In the meantime I am going to rest up.

Until tomorrow…
