There are often times when I think, ooh I should have written about that and I forget to do so. Usually life moves on and I don’t come back to it. On this occasion it’s worth mentioning.
Last Friday when we were in Morlaix we walked past a shop that was selling crochet covered jute shopping bags. I have seen patterns online. The square that I used in the centre of my skirt a couple of months ago was designed by someone for the purpose of covering a shopping bag. I felt that the square was too much work and too pretty to simply use on a shopping bag. The bags I saw in Morlaix were much simpler. They used a series of granny squares, the most basic form of the square. I didn’t particularly like the yarn they used it looked quite cheap. However it was crochet, so I had to be nosey. They claimed to be handmade and I’m sure they were but the price tag was unbelievable! €120. I cannot imagine who is going to buy them and schlep around their local supermarket with a bag that cost over €100. I suppose someone must. It did however give me an idea. Perhaps on my next crochet weekend the participants can make a covered bag. I shall have to trial one.

It would seem that Monday is a bank holiday here. And given that I have written on the last few, I shall take both Monday and Tuesday off next week. I will return on Wednesday.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Until Wednesday…
Enjoy – make those bags and make a fortune 👌🏽 Sending love 🤗
