Wonderful Wednesday!

I like Wednesdays. Mostly because it’s knit and natter in the afternoon. I don’t often sit down to crochet in the daytime, I feel as though I should be doing something more productive. Knit and natter is an opportunity to do it legitimately.

Today appears to have been a bit of a lazy day. I went for coffee with a friend this morning. We haven’t caught up for quite a while so it was really nice to do so. Beforehand I did do an hour’s walk with the dogs. For a week that is supposed to be sunshine and showers, today is glorious sunshine! So the walk was lovely.

I came back at lunchtime and made a curry for this evening. It is best described as, end of the week vegetable curry. I gathered up everything that I bought at market last Thursday and sauted it with spices. I added green lentils and stock and left it on slow cook mode in my crock pot. I have never put fennel in a curry before, I’ll have to see how it turns out!

Two new women came to the group today. I met them when I was teaching at Les Puces. It was lovely to see them. I think that they enjoyed the group and will be coming back next week. They also really liked the café, so that’s a bonus. Interestingly there was some discussion of mindfulness. I found it quite interesting how people were discussing the interrelatedness of craft activities and mindfulness and how important mindfulness is. I love the way I get to amalgamate the two.

Whilst at the session, I finished the back of the cardigan that I am currently making. I have started the front panel now, though actually that means making two squares first. I have done one and am starting the second. This evening I should be able to get on with it.

Strangely this is green not turquoise!

When I got home I added some coconut cream to my curry. I’m giving it a little time to infuse. I love coconut in curry. I think it works so well. I have come into the garden to sit and write. Nancy decided that she needed to come and keep me company. She doesn’t do that very often but it’s lovely when she does.

Until tomorrow…

  1. Sounds like a lovely day Zenna – love your crocheting and that blue!
I agree – coconut milk essential to a nice creamy curry. I don’t like the under taste of yoghurt – unless it’s full throttle Greek! I do the same with all those veg left over!
    Have a lovely day 😘
