Busy, busy!

There was moment last night where I thought that perhaps my French was so bad I’d misunderstood and there wasn’t another person coming. However I was right and the other guest eventually arrived. He spoke very fast French in a very deep voice so he was a little difficult to understand. However I was right he did exist, he was staying just the one night and he did want breakfast. So this morning I did four breakfasts, conveniently they all ate at the same time. Tomorrow I have five for breakfast. I don’t think I ever did that many last year. It’s all good practice, there may be more in the summer.

After the breakfasts it was an hour’s dog, walk, then market, then mindfulness. It sounds as though it has been rushing from one thing to another and to an extent it has been. However despite that, it has been enjoyable. I also finally remembered to deliver the crocheted fish for the village display.

The fishmonger at market didn’t have any of the fish that I would normally buy. I eventually decided that I would try cooking squid. I’ve never done it before however between, me Chris and Google, we think that we should be able to prepare them and cook them. I’ll let you know tomorrow how it goes!

Last night I trialled two different crochet patterns for the cardigan that I am making. I didn’t like either of them. It seems that the pictures don’t always reflect what it looks like in reality. So I’ve frogged again. I am now looking at stitches and trying to decide what I like. I think this evening I will be making swatches and deciding what I like and might use.

Until tomorrow…

  1. Love squid πŸ¦‘ in Spain! I reckon all our best is shipped abroad and the Spanish (and I have no doubt the French) know how to cook it! First time I cooked it I just kept on cooking expecting it to become tender (it gets tougher the longer you cook πŸ˜‚)!
Stranger, deep voice, speaking French … hard job Zenna 😜😜😜
