Oh heck!

I need to keep on top of my diary! Last summer I had both a paper diary and a spreadsheet in order to track who was arriving when and which room they were in. Over the winter that slipped. We had few bookings and I seemed to be able to follow what was happening with the Airbnb calendar.

I had taken a reservation about a month ago which I had completely forgotten about. This morning whilst we were on our way to Brest for lunch to celebrate a friend’s birthday, my phone rang. It was this guest discussing check-in. By the time we sat down to lunch I had taken another booking for tomorrow evening. We seem to be going from nothing to a million miles an hour. We have another family coming in on Friday too. It’s great, it’s what we opened the business to do.

Thankfully because I had done plenty of cleaning yesterday, it was easy to come back from lunch and set up the extra rooms. I know I’m busy tomorrow, so I wanted to have as much done today as possible. It means that when I go to mindfulness tomorrow, I can relax.

I re-crocheted the back panel last night. I now feel much happier with it. I haven’t written it up yet but I won’t see the woman who wants it for a week or two so there’s no rush. In the meantime I’ve caved and started something new! It is partly because I think I have made a mistake with the cardigan that I am doing for me. It will mean taking it back a little way which is not so easy when it’s knitting. I need a day, probably, to sit quietly and work out where I had gotten up to and where I need to go back to, in order to resolve the issue. So in the meantime I’ll work on some pick it up, put it down crochet.

Until tomorrow…

  1. So pleased to hear business is booming! I guess there will be periods when you are really busy – then times when things calm down
Remember to put your feet up when you’re not so busy Zenna! Think of swimming. Sometimes you need to swim but when you are tired, you need to turn over on your back and just drift a while! (Just thinking of working alongside you when any time you could take it easier you would find some new project to ‘fill the gap’)!!
I’m loving the crochet triangle – and the colour yarn too
What’s the weather like? Friends in Spain said they are up in the 40s! We have had a good few days of (much needed) rain here and it’s been grey! Good excuse for me to give my weary limbs some R&R!
    Don’t work too hard 🤗🤗🤗

    1. We’re not booming however it is certainly looking much healthier than a week or two ago. The weather in Brittany is warmer than Cornwall but not hugely different. We’ve had some rain this week and it has been welcome. I can sit and look at crochet patterns for hours these days!
