Getting ahead and dealing with challenges!

I think I am at least half way to dealing with a major challenge. Yesterday morning I discovered that Airbnb’s internal calendars don’t talk to each other. I knew that they don’t talk to external calendars but I thought they would know what all of my listings were doing but of course not.

At the weekend, I took a booking for a four bed room for two nights in July. I duly closed out the room on Airbnb. Then yesterday morning someone booked the whole building for four nights, including the two already booked for only one room. Not an hour later someone booked my other four bed room for three nights. So now I was faced with a treble booking, so it was all starting to look really challenging.

I did an hour’s walk with the dogs again this morning. Afterwards I went to market. It was there that I met a woman who I had met once a couple of years ago. It seems that she manages a gîte which is available for those nights. So it looks as though a plan is coming together! I still have the other group to resolve but equally I think I have a plan there too!

This afternoon I have been getting ahead for the weekend. I have cooked most of Saturday’s lunch. The salad will need to wait until Saturday morning. Tomorrow morning I need to sort out the lunch for Sunday. I have a couple of people coming into the gîte that night too, so I need to do a changeover tomorrow morning too. I am hoping that we can take some time off next winter and enjoy a break!

I finished Chris’jumper last night. All I need to do is press it into shape. I will photograph it when I’ve done that. In the meantime we have red mullet for dinner, a bit of a treat.
