Starting and finishing

The beginning of today was busy. I was up early to bake off breads for two gîte breakfasts. As soon as I got back I did a combined bakery visit and dog walk. I was out walking for about an hour. I then went back to the gîte to do the breakfast washing up and strip the beds.

Having done all of that I sat looking at crochet patterns for a while. I am aware though that I need to complete a few things that are sitting around. I still haven’t sewn up Chris’ jumper, so that’s on the list. I had promised someone in the village that I would make some fish to go with a fisherman cat for the summer decorations. I have been putting it off for ages. Finally I made three fish yesterday evening. I need to add eyes, sew in the ends and perhaps attach them together. I also need to finalise my plans and patterns for the weekend. I know a lot of what we will be doing but I need to make it a little clearer.

I have also had some yarn sitting here for a while that I bought when a shop was closing down last year. I had planned a knitted cardigan with it. I am not as keen on knitting at the moment, so I have decided to crochet one. I have spent some time recently looking at patterns. I have finally chosen one, so I did start it this afternoon.

All in all a fairly satisfying day. I have a casserole in my cookpot that will be ready shortly. So a healthy meal too. I just need to think about what to serve for lunches at the weekend.
