Habits can be both positive and negative. It seems that both types of habits can be developed quickly and they can be lost just as quickly. For flourishing developing good habits can be really important.
This morning the first thing I did was walk the dogs. I had been in the habit of doing that first thing but somehow I had stopped doing it. So I haven’t been walking every day, which is good for me on so many levels. When I set off there was a fine drizzle. I walked down to the stream. It’s looking very pretty. There are bluebells, campions and even yellow irises in bloom. Unfortunately whilst some of the path has been cleared of fallen trees, the little bridge hasn’t been mended. By the time I started to walk back the heavens had opened and the rain was coming down in sheets. When I got home I was so wet a shower and a complete change of clothes was necessary.

Despite getting completely soaked I enjoyed my walk. I am going to try to redevelop the habit of walking every morning. I have a breakfast to do first thing tomorrow, but I shall try and walk immediately after that.
The weekend was busy as usual. Some friends were over from the UK. It seems that we haven’t seen them in nearly two years, which didn’t seem possible. It was wonderful to see them and it really didn’t feel as though it had been that long. I suppose when you’ve known someone for a long time it’s often really easy to pick up where you left off. These friends it is very easy to do so with.
With one thing and another, very little knitting or crochet was done. I have finished the pieces for the jumper but not sewn it together. I still haven’t started anything for the village for the summer. So I think I have a few challenges to start the week with and my crochet retreat next weekend.
Until tomorrow…
What a lovely, lush picture!
Now I struggle to walk I wonder how on earth I failed to appreciate the joy of walking when my legs still worked properly. You are lucky to have such a lovely place to walk – very good for physical and mental health too 🤗🤗🤗
