Ooh my!

I think that’s the simplest way to describe my day. It has been busy. And in some respects I was probably trying to fit in too much. Although it didn’t seem like it when I started.

This morning I had agreed to take a couple who have recently bought a house locally, to the bank to help them open an account. The appointment was at 10am. It was about 20 past when we were finally called into the appointment. Two hours later we walked out of the bank. I was exhausted!

The experience was made worse because I had a request, via Airbnb, for the whole gîte from this evening. I responded saying that of course it would be possible. I sat there wondering how I would fit it in but thinking I couldn’t turn it down.

Once I got home for lunch I sent a message saying that if they were wanting it, I would need to know because there was a certain amount of work to do. Throughout the afternoon I have systematically checked my messages, nothing. Most of our bookings come via Airbnb but it’s not a system that I like. Requests, particularly at short notice, come in, you have to respond and then you are left wondering if they are going to arrive or not. I’m trying to learn to roll with it!

This afternoon I went to teach knitting. There were only two women there, they have been doing crochet with me for the last two weeks, so we had a lovely afternoon. From there it was straight to Pilates. I missed last week’s session because I’d hurt my leg. I was pleased to find that I did ok. I did however notice that what I found the hardest were the exercises which involved balance. So perhaps there is a problem with my inner ear!

Last night I worked on the jumper however I decided to paint my nails. So I didn’t spend the whole evening working on it. I may finish it over the weekend however we will be busy. Some friends are over from the UK, so we are meeting up with them tomorrow. Sunday we are going to the cinema. We have people coming into the gîte next week, so there might be some cleaning and setting up.
