No sooner…

No sooner has a week begun than it seems to be over again. I often spend the Mondays and Tuesdays not being entirely certain as to what I will be doing with the week and yet before I know it it’s Friday again. Whilst weekend’s are not quite the same because that’s usually when guests arrive it is still a case of in my head, Friday is the start of the weekend.

I finished the Jackfield Tile last night. I still need to sew in the loose ends and see whether what I have planned for it will work. Given that I am doing a market next Saturday I need to concentrate on a few cheaper items to sell. I think I will do a couple more of the bunnies. I have some chocolate eggs, so I need to see how they look in the baskets. So plenty to do.

When we were working on the gite last weekend we moved a picture. It was there when we bought the house and strangely so were some plates with the same image on them. The building, which is now divided into three, was historically a hotel. So we have found a few things that are clearly from that time. As we were cleaning the picture we looked at the newspaper on the back which was a local paper from 1935. So the picture has clearly been around for a very long time.

Today as I was arranging things for the guests this weekend, I placed some of the plates on the table under the picture. I hope that they will notice that they are the same image. I rather like the fact that we have old things that tie together.

Shortly is Pilates, so I will be leaving in a minute. I often try to upload my blog on a Friday before I go and usually fail. I am determined that I will do so today.

So once again thank you for continuing to follow me and to take the time to read my blog. I hope you have a great weekend. Until Monday…

  1. Severything is looking lovely at the gite. I’m sure the guests will really like it.
The tile looks like a great deal of intricate work and is quite beautiful finished. I’m looking forward to seeing what plans you have for it.
We just had a flurry of snow. I have some photos of snow at this time of year from several years back here. Thankfully it’s never much at this time and the warmer days are going to return soon.
I hope you also have a lovely weekend. Xxx

    1. I hope they do, I’d got used to them! There was snow just as our guest arrived. I’m really pleased with how the tile has turned out. I shall try and get a few things made over the weekend!
