Each day I try to consider what I want to achieve. Sometimes that is easier than others. Wednesdays are easier because of the fact that I always have an opportunity to be creative.
Yesterday as part of mindfulness we discussed the notion that stopping isn’t a weakness. Actually it can be a strength. Being able to recognise that we need to take a break, to garner our strength or replenish our resilience is important. It is something that I need to consider more frequently. Anyone that knows me, knows that I will drive myself and not stop until I crash. So over the next few months I am going to try to be mindful of this. I will try to consider what is good for me, not necessarily what is expected of me by others, or at least what I think is expected of me. I am aware that they are not necessarily the the same thing. Sometimes being mindful isn’t straight forward, as with other things it takes working at. However the long term results are worth it.
Being outdoors can often help with mindfulness and wellbeing. In the past I would not have wanted to be outside if it was wet. Strangely I now enjoy being out in the rain. This morning Chris and I walked the dogs in the pouring rain. Bizarrely it didn’t seem that wet whilst we were out, yet when we returned home it appeared that we were absolutely soaked. Nancy is never keen on the rain however the labradors really don’t mind.

This evening I am going off piste with the menu. Because I have to have gluten free bread, I usually have to order it in advance. This can sometimes lead to a glut of bread. I managed to end up with too much bread at the beginning of the week. So I decided I needed to make something with it. I concluded that a savoury bread pudding might be a nice change. I have created a a vegetarian dish which smells delicious. Tomorrow I will let you know how it turns out.

This afternoon was Knit and Natter. Earlier in the week I bought a pompom maker. I tried using it but the result was a fail! I knew that there would someone there who would know how it works. I was right. I am delighted to say that I have now made pompom tails for the first two bunnies. I am now making some further rabbits using the same pattern. More pompoms will soon be needed.

Until tomorrow…
Really right about not doing anything and being outside – I tidied the garden and weeded a flower border today and then just sat in the sun listening to birds and simply enjoying ‘being’. I can recommend it!!
