Finishing up!

I follow a number of crochet and knitting chat groups. It seems that many of us have several WIPs, works in progress, on the go at any one time. I am guilty, or at least,  am one of those that has a number of projects on the go at any one time.

Given that I am off to the UK in a week’s time, I thought that I would try and finish some of my current projects before I go. With this in mind I have started to focus on some projects and also considering which projects to take with me. Over the weekend I focused on the cats that I have promised to Les Puces. I delivered two of them yesterday. I forgot to photograph the 2nd cat. I have now finished the 3rd cat.

I started some Tunisian crochet a week or so ago. As a first project I began to make a cowl. I decided that was one of the projects that needed to finish. When I chose the yarn I hadn’t realised that it is the same as a hat I wear regularly. So I am rather pleased to have finished it.

Having said that I am finishing up, I decided that I would like a different handbag to take with me. I decided that I would make one. I am already well on my way with it. I need to sew a liner which will be the most challenging element. I hope to do that tomorrow.

Yesterday we took Archie for a very short walk. He clearly found it very tiring. He slept for most of the rest of the day. Whilst we were out there was a group of people with remote control vehicles. I was immediately aware that my children would have loved to see them when they were young.

Until tomorrow…

  1. I love the cat ! It’s a wonderful colour. The Tunisian crochet keeps popping up onto my YouTube and looks really lovely. Your cowl is going to look really nice with your hat. I’m very keen to see the bag you are making.
I just finished my most complicated hat to date. It is in past herringbone stitch and then some front and back post stitches which are new to me. It has taken me 4 nights to finish but I am very pleased with my efforts ! Hahaha
Archie must have been shattered after his walk but rest will soon restore him. He is doing so well with his recovery, it’s a joy to see him out and about again, even if it’s only a little.
Anything remote control is fascinating to children. Dylan has a remote control boat and loves it when we take it to St Seve to put on the water. Those looked like serious off road vehicles,
I hope you are having a relaxing evening, planning your trip to the UK. So much to do and so little time to fit it all in. Xx

    1. I love the half herringbone stitch, the purple poncho that I wear all the time is made using it . The front and backpost stitches are great for creating a rib effect, so these are really useful to master.
I am making progress with the bag. There could even be photos tomorrow, depending on progress!
My boys would have loved the vehicles. When Billy was Dylan’s age he had one that he loved to drive on the pavement outside our house. They were serious guys in the forest, Chris noticed they were using selfie sticks to video from the vehicle’s perspective!
