Firstly if anyone has any suggestions as to how to persuade the cat that it is not allowed to sit on the table, do let me know. It seems that no matter what I do he is there. His sister is just as bad. Yesterday whilst cooking a joint we had to be permanently on guard!

Over the weekend I came close to finishing the hooded shawl that I am currently making. Unfortunately I ran out of yarn. I seem to do this a lot. Partly because I buy yarn for one project and end up using it for another. So first thing this morning I went to Huelgoat to go to the yarn shop. Whilst driving there it was obvious that there was a mist this morning. It looked rather lovely and I decided to photograph the lake on my way back. Well the shop was shut and furthermore there were no other yarn stores that would be open before this afternoon.
For a moment I was annoyed and thought that this laid back approach in France was rather exasperating. I decided that I needed to find something productive to do for the morning. I had been avoiding the crochet airfix kit that I had left in the loft for the last two weeks. I began to sew it together. The instructions are not clear and when I printed the pattern I did so in black and white. The online pattern has since changed! I am making progress however it is going to take some time yet to finish this. I think it will look impressive. I’m not sure that I am going to sell it and I’m certainly not making another one! Final photographs are a little way off.
This afternoon we went to Morlaix to look for yarn. One stockist didn’t have any of the required type and the other was closed. On line I discovered another stockist about 12km away, so we decided to risk going there. The store had the right type of yarn but not the right colour. Luckily she is able to order it and it should be available on Friday. I have several projects to keep me going in between. We decided that we would have a coffee whilst we were there. One of the amazing things about France is that this is not an expensive treat!

Until tomorrow…
