Unfortunately this is not a blog about finding the missing duvet cover. That is still remains nowhere to be found. This is about another item and language.
Yesterday I was talking to someone about the need to find some Christmas markets where I can have a stall. Today a message came up about Les Puces, a local animal charity, having a Christmas market;so I have put my name down for one there. Whilst I was at market in Huelgoat this morning we went for a coffee and I saw a sign about a market in another village, so I am going to try and find out about it. I need to really do a few, but this will be a start.
This afternoon I had a haircut. Having a hair cut in a foreign language is a challenge. However I enjoy it and I am learning at the same time. So I have discovered that the word for fringe is almost the same in both languages but in French the I is replaced with an a. Likewise the term for layers is dégradé, which sounds similar to graded so again it felt similar. So a haircut is an opportunity to learn more.
During the day a video popped up on my phone in which someone was trying to sell membership of a crochet magazine. There were freebies if you signed up. One of the items on offer was a project bag. Ridiculously I had almost forgotten that I have a project bag. I knew where it was and that I was storing yarn in it. I decided that using it in the manner intended would be a much better use of it. I have now put the yarn in a storage box and my latest project in the project bag. It even has special grommets for the yarn to come through so that you aren’t chasing it around the floor!
Are there things that you forget that you own that could prove useful? Until tomorrow…

Kitchen equipment! As you know I’ve always been a ‘can’t cook/won’t cook’/resistor! Since retirement, and particularly lockdown I decided it was time to broaden my cooking skills (thanks Jamie Oliver for demystifying – and thanks internet for providing masses of recipes and instructions)
SO: in order to make sourdough, bagels, traditional rye etc; goats cheese, mozzarella etc; curries, veggie meals – all I needed was some kitchen equipment. In comes the Oxo range of choppers, peelers etc; accurate weighing; cloths, bowls, strainers, oven dishes ….. stacked cupboards and drawers and hidden gems to shape baguettes or strain curds 🤭
Don’t even start me on garden equipment in shed/garage and even greenhouse (not to mention tools left in wild/overgrown parts of the garden 🤔🤭😂
I do appreciate the privilege and bounty of excess though 🤗🤗🤗

I think the answer is to find as few things as possible that will do as many as possible. However kitchen gadgets are just so tempting.
