Departures, arrivals and crochet

My poor husband was up at 5am this morning. His brother was returning to the UK. Currently you have to be at the port a minimum of 1 1/2 hours before the sailing. Hence a very early start.

We had a family arriving on the same boat. So they were here before 9am. This evening we also had a couple checking in, so there was a quick turn around on a room today. This evening we went and lit the fire which always makes the place look cosy and inviting. The latest guests arrived at the time that they had said which made it a very straightforward check-in.

I started working on putting the cat sofa together last night. The pattern is not extremely clear. I have decided that given the size of it, rather than only using foam, I am adding a piece of hardboard to create structure. We found a piece earlier. I may start to glue the foam together later. Having the foam structure will help with understanding how the crochet goes together.

In the village there will be a knitted and crocheted Christmas tree. There has been a call for creating squares. Up until now I haven’t done any. However I decided that I would try and make some today. I have designed a square that looks like a candy cane in the centre. I am quite pleased with how it has turned out.

The cats are still feeling a little low. Zebulon is well on his way to being back to himself however Florence is still very quiet. I am hoping that she will be back to herself soon. At the moment I think I am very much in her bad books.

Until tomorrow…

  1. Love the Xmas square! Really a whole village crocheting and knitting a Xmas tree! That’s what I call interesting (and a big barmy) 🤣
It sounds like you a having lots of family visiting – good we have the ferry port here!
All good here. New arrival today born to my niece Kelly – her second boy in 18 months. I’m now Great Aunt to eight beautiful children and grandma to seven!
Perhaps I need to take up knitting 🤣🤣🤣
You MUST post the Xmas tree when it’s done! 🤗🤗🤗
