Sunshine, son and success

I am a little sad today because our elder son went home yesterday. I don’t know when we will next see him. However I hope that it won’t be as long as last time.

On Saturday we went out and had a walk on the beach at Carantec, which was lovely and the sun shone. The dogs enjoyed a splash in the sea. It was lovely just to spend time with our son meandering about.

Over the weekend I made progress with a number of projects. I finished the poncho. I have yet to deliver it but it is done and ready to go. The gilet is making good progress. I have also started a cat to sit in the pet beds and that is almost finished too.

Today I had a mammogram. Its not my favourite activity however it needs to be done. I am pleased to be able to report that there were no issues. Afterwards we went for a coffee in St Theggonec.

I had not realised how large and impressive the church there is. Clearly the town was very important and very wealthy in the past. I also spotted a laverie, the place where the locals would have gone to wash their clothes.

I have a friend who is very interested in laveries, so whenever I see one I photograph it. This one appears to have a particularly large wash tub beside it that I have photographed with me beside it to give some perspective. I have to say that I am becoming quite interested in them too because they provide some sense of social history.

Are there things that you find yourself photographing because you have a friend who is interested in them? Until tomorrow…
