A grand day out

Today has been about having a day off and a day out. Given that our son is on holiday we want to make sure that he has some fun. Hence a day out, lunch out and a beach.

I have never been to Locronan. It is one of the places on my list to visit. It is really quite beautiful and obviously very old. We would have had lunch there but unfortunately many of the restaurants are now closed for the season and the rest were fully booked. We enjoyed a stroll and moved on to Dournanez. We found somewhere there for lunch. Thankfully what my son and husband had was good. Mine however was not. I’d ordered mussels, they were cold when they arrived. I sent them back. They really weren’t any better when they came back. Now much as I love mussels, I am also aware that you need to be careful with them. So in the end I didn’t eat very much.

After lunch we found a beach where the dogs could have a run. The waves were really crashing on the shore, the noise was incredible and the smells were wonderful. The dogs clearly enjoyed themselves.

I wasn’t driving today, so I was able to take the opportunity to crochet. I would like to say that I have finished the poncho but I haven’t. I still need to sew the buttons on. That will be either this evening or tomorrow. I have also started a completely different project for a client, a hooded gilet. I rather like the colours.

I picked up some chairs this evening which I will be using for a few up-cycling projects. I know what I would like to do with them however as with all of these things until I start I won’t know if they are entirely right. I am not sure when I will be able to begin however as soon as I have, I’ll let you know.

It is of course Friday, so I hope you all have a good weekend. Do let me know if you have any exciting creative of mindful projects. Until Monday…

  1. What a lovely day ! A pity that your lunch was not so good, but wise to be cautious of shellfish if you’re not happy. The weather has been beautiful and almost back to a ‘normal’ October for here in my experience. Locronan is beautiful and normally they do have a particularly magical Christmas market / festival but of course it hasn’t been on for the last couple of years. It’s where Tess was filmed and there are particular laws in place about what people can do and put on show in their gardens and houses. Quite a strange manically place. On the way there is a monetary tucked away that you can visit also which is also very beautiful. Still used by monks. The beach looked lovely and the colour of the sky was stunning.
I was sorting clothes today and doing work with Dylan which I do find quite mindful. Tonight I am trying to catch up on my coursework which is also quite mindful for me.
I hope your son has had a lovely break with you both and feels rejuvenated and rested when he returns back home.
Have a lovely, sunny, weekend. Xxx

    1. I have heard about Locronan at Christmas. I do hope that it will happen this year. I’d love to see it.
The weather was absolutely beautiful today. It is interesting to hear how you are able to be mindful whilst engaging with daily tasks. I hope you have a good weekend too xx
