Being mindful of mindfulness

Here we are at the end of another busy week. There has been little time for crochet or other creative activities and the weekend isn’t looking good either! There is a cycle race locally on Sunday and we are full tomorrow night.

This morning the logs arrived. I had unfortunately overslept so the farmer had to get me out of bed. Not a good look. This evening Chris and I will have a job to do. I doubt that our log pile will resemble the beautifully stacked and arranged ones that we regularly see. What it will do is keep us warm this winter!

Having given up a stressful job and taken early retirement on a much reduced income I do not want to be back where I was with levels of stress. Therefore my mindful activities are really important. Last night I went swimming, there was also a jacuzzi, two saunas, and a steam room. It was lovely. Tonight is pilates. It is hard work but very necessary and I love it.

Because she makes me smile!

So I hope you have a good weekend. Until next week…

  1. Sounds like a lovely time in the water Zenna! I feel quite envious as our pool isn’t fully open yet and the steam room and jacuzzi definitely not
As far as the wood goes – sod it! It’s not there as a piece of artwork!
The point of your move was to be happy – just DO it! Yesterday’s history, tomorrow’s a mystery – this day is a gift (that’s why they call it the present) – just be present in that present in your longed for French idyll 🤗🤗🤗. Enjoy Saturday – then enjoy Sunday – then enjoy Monday ……🤗

  2. That’s a fine pile of warmth and cozy evenings and lovely meals and laughter and flames to watch in the darker months. It could be seen as just logs, but it’s more, so much more than that. You’ve had a busy week and those logs will not grow legs and disappear if you take your time stacking them. Do it when you feel the energy has risen again and the task will be so much more pleasurably satisfying. I too, admire the local marvellous log stacks but it is not in my bones to make mine into a work of art only to take it to pieces again over the next few months.
Swimming ! Yes how absolutely wonderful and I bet doing it with company was lovely. I try to decide what is essential when I feel my plate is overflowing. We all get weeks where the time has galloped away with us holding on. Sort out what is essential this weekend and leave what is not. Essential to your mind, body and spirit…….and I bet you put crochet onto that list and feel better for it.
    Sending love. Xxx
