Weather’s changing!

More than anything else today has been about ensuring that Henry and Victor got to the ferry on time. So we were all up before 5am to help him get everything into his car.

After that I briefly went back to bed before I had a breakfast to do at the gite. I felt a little sorry for my guest, she arrived yesterday, on foot, in blazing heat. This morning there was a light drizzle when I went out. As the day has gone on, it has been hot and muggy. The power went off briefly and there has been the threat of a storm, though whilst there was a brief down pour the threatening storm hasn’t arrived.

At lunch time another late reservation came in. So I had to go up and do cleaning and a bed change. As yet he hasn’t arrived but hopefully he’ll arrive soon.

This afternoon I went to Ti recoup to collect the piece of furniture that I bought yesterday. It would seem that it is larger than I realised. It wouldn’t fit in the car and had to come home on the roof. It is solid wood so it’s incredibly heavy. We got it into the kitchen however we haven’t been able to get it up the stairs. At the moment it is a piece of occasional furniture in front of the wood burner!

Whilst I was in Ti recoup I had to have another quick look around. I spied a number of a series of crochet magazines or patterns. I decided that they were a bargain and that they should be coming home with me.

I am pleased to be able to report that Victor and Henry have made it safely home. Until tomorrow…

  1. Love the furniture! We really need to reuse and recycle instead of manufacturing tat!
REALLY massive rainstorm here today – I understand there may be one forming near you overnight!
Glad Henry and his cat safely dispatched

  2. Beautiful piece of furniture and crochet magazines ! What a find, it’s like an Aladdins cave in there.
So pleased Henry has had a good journey back, although, sad for all of you no doubt in some ways. The wheel of the seasons keeps turning and catches me out also sometimes. Today was one of them ! We came home a night early from our camping trip at the lake due to being washed out this afternoon in an absolute deluge. It was a lovely trip though.
Those kittens are huge and so sweet. Zenna you are a wonderful cat mum. Xx
