An inventory and a proud mummy moment!

Over the weekend I decided to do an inventory of all my current projects. I have only included the ones that are in progress at the moment. There are further projects in the planning stage. Some of them I have yarns for, some of them I don’t.

There are currently 5 projects that are in progress at various stages of completion. The kitty couch is the project for which I have had to order additional yarn. I am keeping images in abeyance and hope to share them very soon.

I don’t know whether I have mentioned babette blankets before. They are something that I love and provide a reminder of the work of the artist Klimt and wool worker extraordinaire Kaffe Facett. I decided a while ago that I would like to complete one for myself. I have found a pattern online which I am loosely following. One of the aspects of the pattern that works well for me is that it is completed in strips, a total of 5 to make a blanket big enough for a double bed. This project will be one that I will drop back onto as I have time. Whilst I was in the UK I completed the first strip.

I have been working on two other pet bed projects. Both of them would be suitable for a cat or a small dog. One is almost complete and now needs a button to go into the button cover and pull it all together.

The second needs to be filled with wadding and for me to sew the base and the sides together. It is something that I might do this evening. Though I am also making a cat sack, something for them to play and hide in or to sleep in. I’m not sure which will win out this evening!

Finally I have to have a proud mummy moment. My elder son went to university and completed a combined Msc, so whilst many of his friends graduated last year he did not. He completed a further year of study whilst working full-time. His graduation ceremony was today. Given the covid situation each graduand, was only allowed one guest. He decided to take his girlfriend. I am very pleased to say that she has been taking photos and videos all day and sharing them with me. So I am including a few here.

I am currently contemplating how I publicise my work more widely in order to sell it all ideas gratefully received. Until tomorrow…

  1. Congratulations Zenna and to your son. What an amazing achievement for all of you and a very bright future ahead for your son. Such a shame you couldn’t be there but it seems as though you have some really lovely photos and plenty to catch up when you do finally all get together.
The crochet projects are fantastic. I always lovely our colour choices. Xxx
