A positive end to the week

I have a friend who has been through a number of personal tragedies and appears to always be cheerful and positive. She says that she doesn’t get depressed and she tries to make the best of every situation. I wish I could be more like her however I am not.

This week has been very trying and quite honestly pretty tiring. I have at times felt very jaggery, a little shaky and worried that I was about to have a panic attack. So the first positive this week is that I did not have any panic attacks, I am therefore managing my stress better and am able to consider how I control it.

Last night I was working on one of the pet beds that are currently in progress, it was the one I started before going to the UK. I was concerned that the yarn was going to run out before I finished it and indeed it did. I was rather disappointed; however this morning I spoke with several stockists, whilst no one had any in stock someone has now ordered it for me and it should be with them by the end of the week. So that is the 2nd positive.

This morning was mindfulness. We try to meet once a fortnight but it doesn’t always happen like that. I look forward to each session and really enjoy being with the group. This morning’s session was about change. We need to recognise that change occurs throughout our lives nothing stays the same, we are all aging all of the time as are those around us, everything is constantly evolving. Therefore we need to learn how we cope with and embrace change and realise that it brings positives and potential to our lives. So this is another positive.

I have an hour now between cleaning the gite for guests this evening and going to pilates. I am sat under a blue sky writing this blog. That is a real positive!

Are you able to take the positives from different situations? Are there ways in which you consciously act to take the positive from a situation?

  1. You’re doing great – focus on the positives. I find Buddhist philosophy helps here. It teaches us to train the mind (through meditation) to live ‘mindfully’ – ie in the present moment. If we are upset about the past or focussed on the future we are not ‘living’ as we can only do that in the present moment.
If that fails – know that all things pass … change happens and control is an illusion SO I try to enjoy each minute and just go with this roller-coaster called life 🙏🏽
Sending love today and always 🙏🏽🤗🙏🏽

  2. A lot of positives there ! E + R = O. Event + Reaction = Outcome. It’s quite fun to think about past changes and follow them through with the equation and see how the outcome changed depending in on what happened with the R ( reaction).
I’m so pleased you had a lovely morning, personal growth never stops and that’s just how it should be …. xxxx
I hope you have a lovely flexible and bendy, stretching evening, than a wonderful sleep. Xxx
