Finger prints and frites

Apologies for the late post however I have been to market this evening. Having said that I have come home early because my back has suddenly started to hurt badly. Maybe it was the sack of dog food I moved earlier!

Yesterday I had to go to Quimper to the Prefecture to have my finger prints taken, the Prefecture is like a County hall. In order to have titre de séjour, an identity document that confers the right to reside here, there is a process to be gone through. So back in December we applied for the card. We were called to attend yesterday. The email inviting us explained that we would need our passports, a recent passport sized photograph and a black pen. I think the pen was Covid security. People I know who have been, said it was fine, you just turn up, they take your finger prints, you sign some documents and you’re done. I don’t know why but I felt very nervous, I think partly because my husband wasn’t coming with me because he’s still in the UK. Everyone was of course correct, there was nothing to it. I had had visions of ink and mess and goodness knows what. However of course they are taken electronically using a scanner. The only issue there was that I had to balance on tip toes in order to reach!

When in Quimper you must take lunch. I met up with 3 friends and we sat in glorious sunshine having lunch outside of the cathedral in the cental square. None of us had the same, so the order consisted of croque madame, fish and chips, goats cheese salad and modules frites. I love mussels and whilst they weren’t the best I’ve ever had, they were good and the chips were excellent. We had finished and were paying when the heavens opened and there was cloud burst type rain. We were glad that we had managed to eat before it started.

I sold a pair of pantouffles this evening. They appear to be my best sellers so I am thinking of making a range of designs. This will include versions for men women and children!

I hope you have had a good day. Until tomorrow…

  1. Brilliant news on all fronts. It was very efficient at Quimper when we all went. The doorman was very funny.
Wonderful that you sold at the market tonight also. We always buy our slippers in the summer too as they are a bit cheaper normally. I think the tiled floors might be the reason that locally everyone wears slippers all year. Carpets have a benefit but harder to clean thoroughly.
I hope you have a lovely evening and that your back settles down. Xx

Food looks nice, and I bet it beats going to RWY – and definitely the staff club! Miss those breakfasts and lunches though 😊
Watch that back! Hope Chris is ok, give him my best wishes when you talk 🤗🤗🤗
