Monday already!

Weekends seem to speed by here. Saturdays have been extremely busy lately. What with cleaning, setting up and shopping for the gite. This one was no exception. Sunday is really the only day in which we seem to manage to do less. Though I started with breakfasts, thankfully they didn’t want them too early.

It seems that the weather is really changing now and we have had a certain amount of sunshine for several days. It would seem that this has resulted in things really suddenly growing. When I walked to the stream with the dogs this morning it was lovely to see the array of flowers which were set within dense green foliage. My toy throwing is not particularly good and at one point the toy ended up in a tree. I was amazed to watch Archie jump for it and manage to rescue it. It’s one of those things that you don’t have your camera at the ready when you really need it.

I have completed the summer shawl over the weekend and by tomorrow evening I will have completed another hat too. Tomorrow I am going back to the market. On Thursday I will be at another market too. So I am hoping that I will start to sell some items. Nothing has sold yet at the shop. I need to give it time I’m sure. I’m looking forward to being in the markets and getting to talk to people again.

What have you been working on over the weekend? What are you looking forward to this week?

  1. I agree about being busy over the weekend. The time flies past. Yours was very productive though and the hat is lovely. I especially love the colour and the stitch which is very delicate and pretty.

I had mean planning to make natural paint dyes for ages and got around to it this weekend. It is a magical process strarting with something from nature and then adding other natural things to make different colours from a simple red cabbage.
I did attempt clotted cream, but only the top cm turned to cream. With a lot of research it seems that it might be because I used the high fat UHT variety here and the fact that it is already heat treated stops the process. Not one to waste anything I put it back in the oven overnight to see if I can get another cm from the top. Actually I am going to try again with another cream to see if that works better. The things we do for food ! Hahaa
Good luck at the markets this week. Fine weather and the company of people is a lovely way to spend a couple of hours and if you make sales it will be all the better.

    1. I saw the natural paint it looked great. Sorry to hear that the clotted cream wasn’t successful. Raw milk is probably the answer if you can find it. I will watch this space with interest!
