Weekends are busy here. This weekend I had people in the gite from Thursday evening until Monday morning plus the two guys who are there until next Monday. So with change overs and breakfasts I am beginning to get busy.
I had promised that I would be showing a bag today. However at the end of the week I suddenly remembered that I had been offered a place in the Les Puces boutique de Createurs. Les Puces is a charity shop that raises money for animal protection and defence organisations. The person that runs the charity had decided that using a back room for local creators might be an interesting addition. The new room was opening Saturday so I had to get some things finished that I thought might be suitable to sell there. I did a couple of scottie dog brooches and I have put some of my dog lead racks there. I will have to see whether they sell or not.

After I had done breakfasts at the gite on Sunday we went out for the day. We went to La Foret Fouesnant. Before we had our cottage, we had a static caravan on a site there. The site would have been lovely but for its owner, that’s another story. There is a market there on Sunday mornings and I love the port and the beaches there. So finally on Sunday I got my first coffee in a café. Actually we had lunch. We went to the market. We gave the dogs a good run on the beach, well the Labradors ran and played fetch and Nancy did sand rolling, she loves it. Having lunch was wonderful. It felt so normal on the one hand and so strange on the other. And I had two coffees!
After lunch we went to a brocante on our way back. We bought a couple of small items. My husband found a branded whiskey water jug that he liked and I bought two linen tea towels. I doubt that I will be using them for washing up purposes.
The week has started with piles of washing. I think I’m on load 4 now. The family that were in on Sunday night carefully piled what they had used in one place and then folded the items that they hadn’t in another. Whilst this was kind of them, it all has to be washed. Airbnb’s 5 step Covid policy means everything has to be hygienically clean. I now include antibacterial disinfectant in every wash!
This evening I should have gone to the market. However given that it is raining and very windy, I decided that I wouldn’t go. Instead I am going to stay home and crochet!
You had a couple of Coffees ! Great, and a lunch also. Ooh, and a beach and a walk and a chill. It all sounds lovely.
Good news about the shop to sell your items too. I am sure they will be popular and if not you have the skills to adapt and try other things. I hope you do well with it Zenna.
The gite sounds busy, but if you have appreciative guests it makes it less of a task in many ways, although those tasks still need to be done. I imagine the extra covid requirements are a necessary evil, but from your part you are fulfilling all their criteria and it must give you a sense of control in many ways as it also means it’s safer for you too.
I don’t blame you for not going tonight. The weather in Quimper was mild and warmer and at least dry but as we came close to home the rain closed in on us. We too are sat here with the woodburner on.
Have a lovely evening and enjoy not going. Xxx

Thank you. I’m trying to learn to appreciate the small things. I cannot have days to laze around but I can enjoy a few hours away.

It’s so important to change when the circumstances change. I wouldn’t be out in inclement weather when I have a nice cosy home to stay in!
Weather here had been very rainy and windy and my tall plants have taken a battering! I planted out 42 foxgloves last year (brought on from saved seed the year before – I counted because I was so pleased with germination 🤣). They were all throwing up stems ready to flower two years on – guess what 🤦🏽♀️ Looks like the weather is about to change though 🤞🏽
Sounds like both business and creative projects are going well (although all that bedding grrr). I’ve got visitors this weekend and one bed is enough 🤣
Anyway; sending love and hopefully we will all see some sun soon 🤗🤗🤗

The weather has been so strange here. It has been torrential rain for months with a few let ups in between. Chris says it’s worse than Princetown! I don’t agree. There hasn’t been the constant fog. I do hope though that we will see some changes soon xxx
