Yesterday started with breakfast at the gite, so I was up early to bake breads and to get up there to set the table. Later on we had a friend over for lunch and then were able to listen to our youngest on his radio programme. Today was my husband’s 2nd covid vaccination, so this was the first part of the day.
I had hoped to be showing a hat today. However I am unable to do so. After frogging the hat for the umpteenth time I decided that the pattern didn’t appear to be a goer for me. So I found another pattern and I am currently working on it. I will let you know when it’s finished.
Whilst the organisation at the vaccination centre was as good as last time, it was considerably busier. So whilst we were there ahead of the appointment time. My husband wasn’t actually jabbed until some time after his appointment. We noticed that there were a number of much younger people having their vaccinations this time. This was good to see because it clearly means that the vaccination programme is really taking off here. It does seem that vaccination is the only way out of this situation so seeing people getting their jabs is really good.

I was extremely tired today. I’m not sure why. I think I had about 10 hours in bed last night. However sometimes for there is no explanation. This means that I didn’t do much. I sat and read for a long time and had a nap. Suddenly this afternoon I had a text from Airbnb to say that I have someone arriving tomorrow who is staying for 13 nights. I was quite taken aback. I then had to look at my bookings because they seem to have booked the same room twice. It is resolvable nevertheless we decided to create a weekly sheet in order that we can see what is happening in each room. Hopefully this will keep us on top of things.
Are there ways in which you keep on top of difficult issues? What do you do if taken by surprise?
What a lovely weekend getting the opportunity to hear your son present his radio show. As I know you love folk it must have been a relaxing listen.
We always feel extremely tired at the change of the season. I have no idea why that might be, but it is always like this for us. Perhaps it is just that since you have slowed down a bit on the demands made upon you, you are noticing the little rhythms that our bodies have, whereas before you were just too busy to have even had chance to observe them.
I am always writing lists for different things, even meal plans ! I do find it helps me feel a measurable achievement if there are things I have to do that I would normally prefer to avoid. I try to circumnavigate my own desire to avoid doing those things by making a list and then crossing them off when they are done, so giving me a visual gold star for my reluctant efforts. Haha
If caught by surprise, well, difficult to say, depending on the situation but I am sure you are well versed with surprises and cope very well with them .
No rain at the moment so I might hang out some of the mountain of washing I have today for the night. If it’s on the line, it somehow feels proactive in my possibly futile attempt to dry it before the children have no pants left !! Xxxx

The rain has been horrendous. It does make doing things more difficult. I’m not so versed in dealing with surprises but I think I’m about to be!
