Today has been about the gite d’etape again. We spent much of the day putting together bunk beds and removing furniture from when the top floor was being used as a flat. My husband always says that working in the building is exhausting because the two flights of stairs are difficult, they are off set and both turn. So we are now back home and sitting about not doing a lot!
We have however achieved a lot and are now at a stage where we can clean, tidy, photograph and start advertising all four rooms. Up until now I have only advertised one room. Part of the issue was that we didn’t have access to sufficient hot water. The 2nd tank is now working and so we can really move forward. We now have a small family room with a private bathroom, a large family room with a private bathroom. A small bunk room with two beds and a large bunk room with four beds. The two bunk rooms share a bathroom.

Above is our new 4 bed bunk room.
When we named our gite d’etape we spent some time trying to decide on the name. I always find naming things is difficult, I sat in the Registry office still deciding on the middle name of one of my children! I did consider using the word Hospitallers in the name; given the relationship between La Feuillee and them. Unfortunately it’s a word that I find difficult to pronounce so I decided that it wasn’t a goer! Korrigans, are part of Breton folklore. There are different descriptions of them. In some literature they are described as dwarves or small people and in other pieces they are described as pixies and fairies. They are in some instances considered to be compassionate whilst in others malevolent depending on the case. The korrigan can show extreme generosity, but is also capable of horrible vengeance.

The image immediately above considered to be a Korrigan family. I felt that many of the images were charming and slightly cheeky, so this was the name that I chose.
The re-worked hat is making really good progress. I hope that I will be able to show you that at the beginning of next week. Given that the pattern allows for different sizes I am thinking I might make a second one is a child’s size.
I love the fact that many of you choose to interact with me and to comment on my blog. I am thrilled to find that I now have readers in America which is really exciting. I am hoping that as you all interact with me I will be able to include things that are of interest to you.
Tomorrow is Sunday so I will be taking the day off. I hope that you have an enjoyable day. I am off to a plant fair. I’ll let you know about that on Monday.
A brilliantly productive day, great work both of you. I hope the plant fair was good, they are exciting things. The trouble is that there is often so much to choose from that you will come home with a car full, but you get the pleasure of watching them grow. Good luck with the hat, I look forward to seeing the new model.
Have a lovely day on Sunday. Xx
