Hats, Scotties and taxes

Today has been mostly about trying to submit my first tax return in France. As with many things there is a mountain of paperwork, much of which doesn’t actually need anything filling in. Hopefully soon it will be finished!

This morning was a lovely spring morning. We took a walk to the boulangerie with the dogs. They seemed to enjoy themselves. Throughout the walk Archie found a stick to play with. He is strange creature; he always seems to put the stick right at the back of his mouth, do see the photo below. I’m not sure how he is still able to breathe.

I continue to play trying to identify local flowers. Many of them I feel should know, however I forgotten what they are. So there is a photo below for anyone who can identify it for me.

I am currently working on a sunhat. I will take some photographs tomorrow. Yesterday I managed to complete a Scottie brooch. I’m quite pleased with him but he was a bit fiddly so I’m not sure whether I will make any more of these.

I have a hand-holder here who helps with paperwork and all things related to legal issues. I met her whilst I was engaging in a mindfulness course at the end of last year, so she became a friend before I started using her services. She kindly offered to make lunch today for after we had done the paperwork. Whilst the paperwork is a little challenging and certainly not particularly entertaining knowing that there is a salad niçoise to follow! Lunch was followed by coffee and chatting which actually is a rather pleasant way to spend an afternoon.

Have you had an enjoyable day? Have you had an opportunity to relax?

  1. Sound s like a lovely day. Having a lunch prepared for you is a real treat too, so extra enjoyable. A productive day here, doing normal things but all pleasurable. I had a long chat with a friend in Australia which was super dooper lovely. It’s always wonderful to have a face to face with a friend even if it is virtual. Just being able to see their expressions and smiles and laughter for real is what makes a connection special.
Still soooo cold though and I couldn’t honestly wait to light the woodburner tonight. Oh and our semi feral cat had kittens but no idea where despite looking. She hides them all over and normally only one will survive, but she was hissing and spitting at me this morning so a sure sign. Xxx. Hope you have a creative and calm day tomorrow. Xxx

    1. Yes it is cold. We had hoped to eat outside at lunch time however it wasn’t possible.
It is good to be able to see people in another country, especially on the other side of the world.
I hope the kittens will be ok. xx
