Humans are not designed to reproduce later in life. Now I think I know why. We cannot cope with the sleepless nights
The cat went into his cage last night. He then screamed endlessly from then on. Today we both hit the wall. If I am lacking sleep then I can often feel drunk. I also need to double my calorie intake to cope. So today I feel drunk and have the serious munchies. At lunchtime we delivered him to the rescue.
On a final note they have sent me photos of him sitting on their lap. Apparently after a couple of hours he decided to make friends. He hasn’t been that close to us in the weeks that he has been here. I feel slightly tearful as a result. However I think he didn’t want to be here so there’s nothing we can do about it.
If we are tired the dogs get what we call a car walk. What that means is that we drive somewhere where we can get out of the car and start walking rather than setting off from home. So given our exhausted state we took them close to one of the lakes. We were going to walk beside the lake however there were several people fishing, so we took the dogs onto the nearby nature walk.
I love the way that walks in the middle of nowhere have information about the trees and plants that you will see along the way. The walk was pleasant and it was good to be in the open air.
We are not going to achieve anything today. We need to relax and re-charge. Tomorrow is another day and we will try to make some real progress then.

Brilliant to have info on what it is you are seeing! As someone brought up in the centre of the city I have little knowledge about trees, plants, wildlife etc. When I moved to the southwest I knew hawthorn, oak and privet! (Sparrows and pigeons too). I remember being SO excited (age 25) when I saw my first snail! I honestly thought they were just fairytale characters!
Even though Iβm a really keen gardener and now know there isnβt just one type of ladybird, one type of bee or one type of snail π (see it does look like it was designed for a fairytale) – I still canβt identify many trees, shrubs or plants (just the most common).
SO: I have a database with the names of the nearly 300 bulbs/shrubs/ perennials and annuals Iβve identified/planted in the last three years
While I love the natural world – I so wish I had acquired knowledge at a much younger age – this would definitely have helped me!!!
Have a bottle of wine and a good nights sleep π π΄π΄π΄

Thank you its certainly what I need. Strangely I learnt a lot about the natural world as a child but through a long working life of not needing or using the information I have forgotten much of it.

I understand your sadness, but cats choose their owners and I have had several that never really ended up as pets here. You did the right thing and can now get some rest.
I once worked 27 nights in a row on 12 hour shifts in Plymouth and was driving back to Truro each day. I actually stared hallucinating which was a first for me, and while I understood why, it was a situation I never wanted to re visit !
I had my third child aged 42 but because of how I parent it has never been a problem, but it’s not possible to have a cat breast feed and sleep next to you in bed !!! Well not that I know of, but it’s never too late to hear the story !!!! Hahaha
Sunny weather is definitely a bonus and with the full moon passed now, I am sure you will sleep like a top tonight. Don’t get up u til you feel fully charged and start all over again. Sending love. Xxxx

Thank you so much. I have not had this experience with a cat before and I have had a number of them. Two hours after I left they have taken photos of them on their lap! xx
