So today has been about a number of creative activities. I have finally managed to start to use a knitting machine. I have been trying different crochet squares for the poncho. I have also spent part of the day battling with Facebook.
I have spent almost as much time time frogging, taking out, as putting together, the poncho at the moment. I am working without a pattern. I am now trying to ensure that I balance the different patterns, the different colours and the types of yarn. I think I might have finally decided how I can go forward now.

Last year I had decided that I wanted to use a knitting machine to create scarves and shawls. I bought a second hand one. I watched endless YouTube videos but couldn’t get to grips with the machine. I reached out on Facebook and a really helpful couple came to try and help me. The wife used to knit regularly and her husband used to maintain her machine. They were extremely generous with their time and their help. On the day we weren’t able to get the machine up and running. They were able to advise me on how to clean the machine and how to cast on and use it. They did however point out that the machine was a double bed machine, which are more complicated.
Well I gave the machine a thorough clean which included taking out and cleaning every individual needle and putting them back, across both beds. I put the machine back together but unfortunately I still couldn’t get on with it. So I decided that perhaps getting a single bed machine would be the answer. I saw one going cheaply on Facebook market place and bought it.
As it happened at that point I didn’t have the time to set it up and use the new machine. I recently realised that I had two machines and one had to go. So finally I advertised the first machine on market place. I advertised it for 10e but stated that I would prefer some wine! Anyway a fashion student who is majoring in knit wear was the first person who said that they would like the machine. They arrived today to collect it. They kindly brought me several bottles of which was lovely. What was even better was that they took the time to help me set up the other machine and to get it working which has been fantastic. I am so excited that I am going to be able to start working with it very soon.

At some point over the weekend whilst advertising the knitting machine and trying to buy some bunk beds for the gite, I was locked out of Facebook market place. The automated response told me that I had broken the rules. However I have not been told what rules I have broken. I have spent a great deal of time both yesterday and today trying to get in contact with Facebook to find out what has happened and why I am locked out. Unfortunately still no luck.
So if anyone has any ideas about how I can get a response from Facebook please let me know. Has anyone else struggled with contacting social media platforms?
Sounds like a massive step forward to get your machine up and running! Presumably you could Google the FB rules?
I’m sure FB are deliberately unavailable- I had a relatively innocuous post removed randomly during the Brexit debate because it ‘broke community rules’ Never knew what that was about because it had been shared thousands of times🤷🏽♀️
More important you check out the rules as it relates to your livelihood
Keep up the creativity and the blog 🤗
