Exciting news

So this afternoon I have spent mostly sitting in a friend’s garden enjoying the sun and the feeling of not having to do anything and just relaxing. However this is all about to change. Or at least I hope it is.

It has been announced that the roadmap out of confinement is to be followed as was set out a month ago. So from the 3^rd May we will be able to go further than 10km from home without an attestation and interdepartmental travel will be allowed. There is talk of outside areas of bars, cafes and restaurants from the middle of May. I cannot wait to sit outside a café an enjoy a coffee.

So with the lifting of the confinement I expect that the French will start to come on holiday again. Up until now I have only ever advertised one room. There were a number of reasons for this; the most influential being that we did not have sufficient hot water for multiple rooms. The new, additional tank, is now in place. I just need to get the electrician to commission it. Then we will be good to go with four rooms.

Well not quite. I have come to understand that our rooms are not organised in the most effective way. So next week I need to start thinking about moving furniture. Some of this is no mean feat. On the top floor there remains a cooker and a fridge from when we had tenants in the top of the building. So these need to come down. On the first floor currently there is a 3 sleeper bed in our smallest room. I have realised that that room is really only suitable for two people so, the three sleeper needs to go to the top floor. It will be replaced by bunk beds.

So as things stand there is only one room that I am happy with and that is the family room on the first floor. So next week I shall have my work cut out moving furniture, photographing and getting things on to Airbnb. It will be busy.
