Yesterday we had a really pleasant day. We took the dogs for a long walk, my husband gardened and I crocheted. In fact I spent part of the afternoon sat in the poly tunnel crocheting. It was lovely and warm. Finally we listened to our youngest on the radio.
We have got back into the habit of taking the dogs for an hour’s walk each day and we are certainly feeling the benefit. We had become a little lazy and hadn’t been going so far. The confinement means that finding motivation can be difficult and we are certainly trying to ensure that we are pushing ourselves to do things.
The cat, is not helping with my levels of motivation. He is entirely nocturnal. He usually comes awake at about 9pm and then keeps going all night. He talks or calls loudly to us. We are not allowed near him but he will keep us informed that he wants attention, food or some company albeit from a distance. My sleep is being regularly disturbed by him at the moment; which again doesn’t help with my motivation to get going in the mornings!
Last week I managed to sketch a design for the poncho that I am making at the moment. I have now made at least one of almost all of the squares. I am currently working on the large granny squares. They will not be as large as the ones on the coatigan and so I am confining them to five colours rather than the 10 or 12 on the other garments. I have white and pink daisies; both with two different coloured back grounds; a standard granny square and a puff stitch granny square. I have decided that my next step will be to make the four large squares and then to begin putting the poncho together and making the squares as I go.

Tomorrow I’m going to the hairdressers in the morning, so I hope for some undisturbed sleep tonight! Until tomorrow.
Enjoy the hairdressers Zenna! I’m glad you both are finding things you enjoy doing.
We went to a garden centre today for the first time just wandering around feeling grateful. We took a detour coming home investigating the countryside.
Now sitting in the evening sun with a gin. Relaxed for the first time in ages.

Sounds really good. Actually we went to a garden centre today and bought some new tomato plants. The last ones got caught by the sudden late frosts. It’s just all so strange. Enjoy the gin! xxx

Your cat sounds fantastic, a real character, even if he keeps you awake ! It must feel like a house full in the middle of the night ?
Lovely that you’re going for walks again too. I bet the dogs love it just as much.
We had a lovely weekend despite there being a rave down the road that started on Friday and ended on Sunday. We passed them all walking home as we came back from our walk and they were all so polite and said good morning. We haven’t ever had any nuisance from them at all in all the years here.
I foraged dandelions yesterday and was determined to make dandelion saffron but I was too generous with the amount of petal I cut off, so I’ll start again !! Trial and error !! Xxx

Sounds amazing. I need to find out about it. Glad to hear that the ravers were polite! As for the cat. He’s wearing a little thin at the moment xx
