Easter, lockdowns and crochet

So I am feeling better today. However I am far from all singing and dancing. I did nevertheless manage to go and collect my car, it went in for some work on Wednesday. I also got on with some crochet.

Earlier today a friend posted a message wishing friends a happy Easter. For a moment it was difficult to recognise that we are already at that point of the year. I don’t know how everyone else is finding it, however I am finding it more difficult this year to work out where we are in the year. Last year even with total lockdowns I seemed to have a closer grip of where in the year we were. This year I am not managing to keep up with where we are. Here in France we are about to go into another lockdown for the next four weeks. Whilst it is not as restricted as the previous lockdowns and certainly not as restricted as the last UK lockdown it feels another challenge to get through.

Of course with lock down there is no possibility of having any guests in our gite d’etape. In some respects this is no bad thing. We have further work to complete and this will give us an opportunity to do so without having to consider when guests will be arriving.

The lock down will also give me the opportunity to get on with some Sheshed projects. I need to finish my cube and my bathroom cabinet that I started last week. I am planning to make some brooches and ordered some pins to attach them to. They arrived today which is exciting so I will get to make some very soon.

I have finished all of the pieces of the coatigan. I now have a giant jigsaw to put together, as well as the sewing in of all the ends. This is not my favourite part of any project. However it has to be done in order to have beautiful pieces. So over the next few days I shall be starting to put this project together and I look forward to sharing this with you in the next week.

Therefore given that I have discovered that this is Easter weekend, I have decided to take the weekend off. I hope you all have an enjoyable Easter wherever you are and who ever you are spending it with. I shall start posting again after the weekend.

  1. So pleased you are feeling much better than yesterday and you have certainly been very productive today. The colours of the coatigan are lovely and will be a cheery garment to wear. It’s not a bad place to be spending the lockdown, especially with the warm weather on its way. At least you can still get to the lake for doggy walks and a change of scenery.
I found an amazing spray that has cleaned the hoods on my wood burner. It might be a small thing, but the use over the winter had made them filthy and I am over the moon to have them restored to pre winter looks ! It was packed at Super U today and I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. All set for a lockdown with full cupboards and no trips planned for the next week. I shall have to see how far 10 km is in radius to check where I can and can’t go for a walk. Thank you for the Easter wishes and the same wishes for you and your family. Sending love and hoping every day you continue to feel better. Love from us all. Xxxxx
