A really exciting day!

So as always the weekend has gone in a blur. Guests and breakfasts. Actually the ones in this weekend were a father and son. They left me a really sweet note that I found this morning to say how much they enjoyed their stay and how good their breakfasts were. So that was rather nice.Continue reading “A really exciting day!”

Bees, business and bother!

I like a little alliteration so I thought I’d use this as today’s title. However I am stretching it on two fronts. It wasn’t really business and there was only one bee. My husband is self-employed and this morning started with me writing two devis, a quote that is legally binding and must be writtenContinue reading “Bees, business and bother!”

Freezing at market!

So this evening I am sat at a market at Brasserie An Alarc’h. This is the brewery on the edge of the village I live in. The weather had turned and so sockless is not good. This afternoon I felt as though I was channeling my inner Strawbridge as I was putting something together atContinue reading “Freezing at market!”

2nd jabs, markets and crochet

So today was the day for my 2nd dose. Like the UK, France is leaving a longer gap between first and second doses of the Astra Zenica vaccine. So my husband who had his first dose the 22nd of April had his 2nd dose two or three weeks ago. I am very relieved that IContinue reading “2nd jabs, markets and crochet”

Kerbargain

Kerbargain is the name of the small hamlet in which we live. I promised some time ago that I would provide more information about where I live. Given that I am going to market later, I thought that now was as good a time as any. As with other languages part of the name canContinue reading “Kerbargain”

Monday already!

Weekends seem to speed by here. Saturdays have been extremely busy lately. What with cleaning, setting up and shopping for the gite. This one was no exception. Sunday is really the only day in which we seem to manage to do less. Though I started with breakfasts, thankfully they didn’t want them too early.  ItContinue reading “Monday already!”

Catching up on crochet

I am trying to make positive choices in my life. I want to lead a more relaxed and calm life that remains fulfilling as it retains some challenges. With this in mind I am trying to decide how to best utilise my time. So from now on I will blog during the week but notContinue reading “Catching up on crochet”

A little bit of Calm

I said from the outset that part of the purpose of this blog is to discuss mindfulness. After yesterday, I thought that today I might just do that. I want to reflect on Calm. https://www.calm.com/ is a website that I signed up to some time ago and from time to time they send me emails.Continue reading “A little bit of Calm”

Raging menopausal socialists

The above name belongs to a Facebook group that I was recently invited to join. I find that much of what is posted is interesting. However as with most things there are areas with which I cannot agree. More of that later. I have found it interesting that the menopause, once an extremely dirty word,Continue reading “Raging menopausal socialists”

Le Weekend

Weekends are busy here. This weekend I had people in the gite from Thursday evening until Monday morning plus the two guys who are there until next Monday. So with change overs and breakfasts I am beginning to get busy. I had promised that I would be showing a bag today. However at the endContinue reading “Le Weekend”
