The patient appears to be doing well. He is excited about the prospect of food, each time that there is some on offer. He has been out a few times. Again he appears to enjoy going out but once he comes back inside he does go straight to bed. https://talesfromthesheshedfrance.wordpress.com/go-fund-archie/?preview=true I on the other handContinue reading “A brief update…”

He’s home!
Today has been very much about Archie. Having spent nearly two weeks in the vet’s he has now come home. The vet actually said that he believes that his recovery has been some sort of miracle. He has a long way to go but with rest, medication and good nutrition he should recover. Chris hadContinue reading “He’s home!”
January!
Whilst it has been extremely cold, the sky would have you believe it’s spring. The last couple of mornings we have seen the sun rising whilst we have been walking the dogs. My younger son always says that positionally we are too far to the west for the time zone that we are in. So weContinue reading “January!”
Go fund Archie!
Apologies for the late blog post. Over the last week I haven’t been sleeping very well. I didn’t know why. We saw Archie this afternoon and I came home and went to sleep! So I think I have my answer. The vet can only be described as a miracle worker. Archie is walking really well.Continue reading “Go fund Archie!”
Knit and natter, bash and clatter
We have managed to do the washing for the gîte. We took it to the local laverie. The bedding for 15 people which includes 30 towels is quite a pile therefore the commercial machines seemed the way to go. This evening I have taken a booking for this weekend, so it’s good that I’ve finallyContinue reading “Knit and natter, bash and clatter”
Some progress
This morning was mindfulness which as many of you will know is one of the most important things in my life. On the way there I drove around a corner to see an incredible view of mist hanging in the valley below me. Whilst I was concerned about the time I decided to stop andContinue reading “Some progress”
Instant gratification
Sometimes I feel the need for instant gratification. I have been working on the crochet dress for a couple of weeks now. Given that I am effectively designing the pattern it isn’t a straight forward process. I have already taken it apart once. Now I’m needing to do so again. This time for two reasons.Continue reading “Instant gratification”
Les Puces
The literal translation is the fleas. There is a local charity here, that mostly rescues cats but also provides for some other animals, that uses the name. The charity has a shop which raises money particularly for vets bills and food. The charity is currently in the process of moving from one shop premises toContinue reading “Les Puces”
A little tired
Earlier I started researching information to write a piece. Given that I am really quite tired I decided not to. I may well write it another day but not today. Before Christmas the weather was cold, over Christmas and New Year it became a little warmer. However it has turned colder again. I find thatContinue reading “A little tired”
The sagas continue…
Yesterday morning was lovely; mindfulness led to a feeling of peace and calm. However the two issues that have been a challenge this week continued. Further battles with the new phone all afternoon left me really quite stressed. This was then followed in the evening by discovering that Archie appears to be doubly incontinent. IContinue reading “The sagas continue…”
