I have to be honest and say that I haven’t achieved a great deal today. I have spent a certain amount of the day answering emails and dealing with the gîte. This often can take up a lot of time and not really achieve very much. So I have had one potential guest who initially said that they were a group of six wanting to stay for two or three nights. They’ve now decided that there’s only four of them and they only want to stay for one night. I no longer do one night stays. Then I have had someone who asked lots of questions, they are an extended family and want to bring a dog. When I answered their questions and explained that dogs are welcome, they asked which gîte I was and where we are. At which point I think that communicating with the dogs might be easier!
Dinner was cooked for me this evening, actually it was last night too. Tonight we had pea and bacon soup. It was delicious. I wonder where he learnt to cook! Actually my eldest son went to a cookery club, run by the school cook, whilst in Year 5 of primary school. He used the recipes he learnt there for years and even now can create a great Victoria sandwich using a wooden spoon rather than a whisk. The cook always said she had to teach them to use a wooden spoon because she didn’t have enough electric whisks. He always says it’s how he learnt, so it’s how he does it.

Until tomorrow…
