Today has been gloriously sunny all day. I find that sunshine always does make the world look a better place. Though I’m not sure that the people of Ukraine would necessarily agree at the moment. More of that later.
We are continuing to work on the gîte. My role today has been mostly explaining what needs doing. Though I was carpenter’s mate at one point this morning.
I walked home from the gîte in order to get changed to go out. The trees and flowers are beginning to look beautiful. It seems that things are really starting to grow both in our garden and in the poly tunnel too. The rhubarb that we thought had died last summer is really showing signs of growth. Hopefully there will be some to pick later in the summer.
This afternoon was Knit and Natter. One of the women who attends the group is making jewelry to sell to raise money for the Ukraine. She making it in the colours of the Ukrainian flag. She wants to raise 100€ to give to the charity https://www.facebook.com/groups/451942566612997/permalink/463278748812712/. I have started making a cat for the village’s summer display. When I’ve finished this one I’ll be making some fish. I am knitting the cats. I think I prefer crochet at the moment!
