A little inspiration

This afternoon Zebulon sat in front of the empty dishes staring at me. I thought it was a less than subtle hint! He and his sister can can eat for their country. We have been weighing Archie’s food this week. One afternoon we came in to scattered items in the kitchen. Chris had left the 2nd half for his tea on a high shelf. The scale pan was still where he’d left it, however,it was completely empty. Clearly the cats had had it. And they look so innocent!

I was responding to a reader this morning who is actually a friend, I used to work with her. She was telling me that I have inspired to take up crochet. She is not the first. Another regular reader has also learnt crochet via YouTube having seen some of what I have created. So it would seem that some of what I do and what I say has inspired some of you. So my question is how can I earn something from what I do?

The first person and I worked together in Higher Education. Whilst from the outside this may look like a wonderful environment the reality is that it has become an environment that destroys people. I took early retirement. My GP wanted me to go on grounds of ill health. Unfortunately the pension agency didn’t agree, so I have a significantly reduced pension. Our current basic income, before we earn anything from the gîte, From the sheshed and from Chris doing any building work is approximately half minimum wage for one person here in France. I wouldn’t and couldn’t go back. So I need some inspiration on how I can earn a little more. I am not looking for a living wage, just ways in which I can top up what I have would be great. I’d like to write but I’m not entirely sure what about or where to try to get published. So does anyone have any ideas about how can I earn something from inspiring others?

Fridays seem to be the day for trying new recipes. This evening we’re having onion bhajis with a spicy coriander sauce, roasted aubergine and chickpea curry and rice. I’m rather looking forward to it. The coriander sauce has quite a kick!

I hope you have a good weekend. Until Monday…
