Today has been a little strange. The positives are that I finally finished the dress last night. I went to knit and natter this afternoon and was able to wear it. The women there really liked it.

I have learnt a great deal from doing it. At some point I will write up the process. I made a number of mistakes but they were a huge learning curve. I know the sleeves are somewhat voluminous but I decided to just finish it at this point. I wouldn’t make it the same again, I’d make them less full. However; I have learnt that it is possible to see a knitting pattern that you like and adjust it and create a crochet pattern.
There is a vegetarian restaurant chain in the UK called Cranks. It initially started in London in the late 1960s. I have the original recipe book which I am very fond of. However as with many things in life I tend to adapt the recipes. Tonight’s meal is an adaptation of two of them with an added twist. One uses a carrot puree on the base and the other has a savoury crumble topping. Having carrots and beetroot left over from last week’s visit to the market it’s savoury carrot crumble this evening. The beetroot I had were golden, not purple but my carrots were purple. The resulting colour is incredible.

Archie continues to make progress. Thank you so much to those of you who have bought items from me. I have put the link in again encase anyone else would like to look.

The visit to the doctor was thoroughly unsatisfactory and I will need to consider what to do next. Apparently I need to have my thyroid medication increased, which is hardly surprising. However despite the fact that I have significantly reduced my fat intake my cholesterol has risen. It would seem that there is only one answer to this and it is not a route I want to go down. So more to think about.
At knit and natter I started a new project. You may remember that I bought some handspun yarn before Christmas. I have chosen a pattern and have started it. The pattern incudes both knitting and crochet so I think this is rather exciting!

Until tomorrow…
It looks fantastic and is so slimming in style. Not that you need it, but it is a very flattering design. The hand spun yearn is in beautiful colours and I am wondering what you plan to make……..I like a mystery !
Great news about Archie and may it continue on the same path.
I hope you give yourself a little time to think about your own health situation and make decisions that are the best ones for you. I have learnt that in most cases there are always a couple of options to most things. Often one is seen as an easier one than the other but deciding what is best for you is a personal choice and knowledge is always your best friend in helping to make that decision. I hope you begin to feel a bit better very soon. Xxx

Thank you. I’m not feeling at all well at the moment. Until I start to feel better I don’t think I’m going to be making any decisions xx
