When I cook in my instapot I often seem to get the quantities wrong. So now it’s beginning to look like The magic porridge pot with an endless supply, on this occasion, of curry. I’m not quite sure how my other half feels about this but it’s curry for dinner again tonight. When I made it on Monday I intended for it to last for two days. It seems that I have my proportions wrong and there’s another meal in there. After that it will be for the dogs, though whether they will eat vegan lentil and aubergine curry remains to be seen.
And I have not taken up the vegan campaign. For years I was a vegetarian however pregnancy put pay to that. I went from being unable to walk past a butcher’s shop without feeling sick to thinking I was going to snatch meat off the plates of those leaving it lying around in front of me! So for the last 20 something years I have eaten a balance of meat-based and vegetarian dishes. I am not sure about the climate change arguments regarding meat. I certainly don’t think we should be destroying rain forest to provide grazing and feed for an increased demand for meat. So yes I think we should perhaps curb the amount of meat that we consume. At the same time I am not entirely convinced by the methane argument. I liked the meme I saw about spending a night in a barn with a car with its engine running or with several cows releasing gases. And like the person in the meme I think that it is much more likely that I’d come out alive after the latter than the former.
Today was the inaugural meeting of knit and natter. There was only the two of us. However both of us know people who have said that they will probably come next week. I have finished the first slipper. So one down, 5 more to go! People in the café thought it was great. I hope that the client does!

Until tomorrow…

😂. That always happen when I’ve made soup! It multiplies!
