Friday night we went to the local creperie. The building is extremely old and they have an open fire that adds to the ambiance. I suggested that we start with a Kir Breton, firstly because it’s a local drink but also because they serve them in such lovely glasses. The drink is made with cider and cassis. The glasses are made locally and are really unusual.
On Saturday I went with my sister-in-law, mother-in-law and a friend to a fabric fair in Quimper. When we arrived I was concerned that we had gone that distance and that there was very little to see. However on closer inspection there was a treasure trove of items to be found. We all came away pleased with our haul. I have yet to decide what I am doing with it. I will share it here when I decide. Afterwards we went into the centre of Quimper for a coffee. My relatives had not been before and were pleased that I had taken them. They thought it was stunning. I was a little disappointed to see that all of the flower baskets had been removed for winter.
Yesterday it poured with rain and I was worried that we were going to have another day of rain today. Luckily it was bright first thing. My husband and his brother are felling trees in our garden. Actually they are more dealing with a tree that fell down. They are also trying to cut back some other branches. I will go out tomorrow and photograph the stacks of logs. There is so much more to a tree when it’s on the ground rather than standing up! The difference in light in the garden is incredible.
The gite is busy again this week and next so I did do a certain amount of cleaning and organizing today. I have people coming in tomorrow, two groups on Wednesday and possibly another on Friday. I have a group in next week too. I am not complaining because it’s all income and we need a little of that at the moment.
With the gilet finished it was time to get back to the cat sofa. I am finally on the last piece. I hope that I will finish it this evening. It will then be a massive jigsaw puzzle to put it all together. I think it will take several days! I will share once it’s finished. I have been looking at patterns and deciding what I will be working on next. I think I am going to try a hooded pocket shawl. I have plenty of yarn here that I could use. I do though need to send some yarn choices to a client and then I’ll have a poncho to do too.
A good start to the week. Until tomorrow…

Sounds like a really enjoyable and productive family time Zenna π€
Donβt forget to plant some native trees to replace the ones coming down π€ππ€
