The weekend was a success. There was a moment on Saturday when I thought it might not be. I had notes in my diary because I had direct bookings and bookings with Airbnb. At one point I thought I had two Sebastiens and that I had double booked a room. Thankfully I realised that there was only one Sebastien and no double bookings.
Sunday afternoon we had a little down time and went and had a walk on a beach. The dogs love the beach. The labradors exhausted themselves swimming and even Nancy went in the water. It was lovely to smell the sea.

At the end of last week I became aware that I was burning the candle at both ends as the saying goes and I needed to slow things down. I took the decision to close the gite down for a few weeks in order that I can take stock. I have subsequently accepted a booking however this is for one person for 7 nights so this is relatively straight forward.
I have for some time said that I wanted to run retreats at the gite. So I have decided that I will be doing one either the first or the 2nd week in November. The retreat will be on mindfulness and creativity. I have managed to sketch out a plan for the retreat. It will consist of a range of mindfulness sessions, creative sessions, including knitting and crochet and some outdoor activities. I am in the process of getting session leaders in place, so watch this space if you are interested in participating.

The retreat will be an excuse the light the wood-burner at the gite. I always think that our main salon looks at its best when that is alight. As you can see I am excited with planning this. Over the next week or two I shall also be testing out patterns for people to try. Again I will share them here.
So until tomorrow…
An excellent idea about the retreats. I have very similar plans. You look gorgeous at the beach, it’s obviously a place where you feel calm. More days at the beach on prescription are needed. Even your dogs benefited and I bet you had a quiet evening with them after their treat…
Yes, all lounges look better with a real fire, that is mindfulness itself. The process of laying in the fire and then the first spark as it grows into the warmth of an evening is a magical part in the day. A fire and all its parts are almost a therapy in themselves.
Great that you noticed the signs within yourself and became the leader of your time. That’s is much harder to implement than most people think, but well done, you did it and I bet you feel better for it…

Thank you for your comments, I really like the photograph. I think it’s the best one I’ve seen of me in a long time! And yes not a peep out of the Labradors last night!
