I have now spent the best part of an hour trying to find a song that actually reflected what I wanted to write about today. However I haven’t managed to do so. So instead I have just decided to provide a link to a song that I really like! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv8FBjo1Y8I I was looking for something that I felt showed the courage of a woman and her convictions. Tracey Chapman is definitely a woman who demonstrates the courage of her convictions.
The lyrics of Chapman’s song do not link with what I wanted to say however like her there are times when I feel that it is necessary even in a minor way to follow the courage of your convictions. So late last night the hat that I photographed yesterday became this:

Having finished it I realised that it was just too big. It wasn’t going to work for any woman. So I sat and carefully took it to pieces in order that I can re-use the yarn. My intention is to redo the hat however I am going to use a smaller hook and possibly go down a size on the pattern too. I shall be starting that this evening.
Today we spent 5 hours moving beds at the gite. I’d like to say that all of the beds have been moved but no they haven’t. We have a bunk bed that is a double on the bottom with a single on the top. It needed to move rooms. This is considerably easier said than done. It needed completely taking to pieces including the poles that create the base for the mattresses. So this takes a considerable period of time. My husband was concerned at one point that it wasn’t going to fit into the room where we were putting it but I had spent some time measuring and was certain that it would fit. I’m very glad to report that it does fit and will now remain there.

One of my readers has said that she would like to know more about where I am in order that she could get a clearer picture of the surroundings. So today I am including some information about La Feuillee. https://commune-de-la-feuillee.webnode.fr/ It is a small village in northern Finistere and is the highest village in Brittany. It is a sleepy village made sleepier by the confinement. The gite d’etape that we own is in the village on the main square. La Feuillee is in the heart of the Monts D’arree and therefore people are drawn to it for the walking opportunities that it affords. Historically the village had a significant relationship with the Knights Hospitallers, it was a staging post for the crusade armies, travelling to the holy lands. There remains a chapel in the village that was built by them. In more recent times La Feuillee was noted to be important in the linen trade in the area. http://www.infobretagne.com/feuillee.htm I have taken some photographs of the village today, you can compare them with older images in the link that I have just included.

I hope that you like the links that I have included today. Please do let me know if there are other things that you would like to know about my life here in Brittany.
THANKYOU! beginning to get my bearings now! What a fabulous position for travellers. The place looks amazing. Just heard on the news that France is still on the English amber list but hopefully that will change soon and I’m sure you will soon be at capacity! Hopefully Billy and Henry will be able to visit too (help the old man out – just joking Chris)!
Glad you decided to remake the hat rather than give up – but then you never were a quitter!
Love Tracey Chapman!
Enjoy your weekend 🤗🤗🤗

I started following you at the mention of crochet…then Brittany…and now Finistere!! That is the birthplace of my mother, Germaine Penguilly. She was raised there on her grandparents farm in her younger years prior to moving to Etain (my birthplace). We all moved to the US in 1959. I have never been back. But it is my dream to do so. So I can now see, through you, part of my family history. Thank you so very much.

Thank you so much for your comments. I do hope that you will continue to follow me. You may be able to let me know about some of the history of the locality. Do you know where the farm is, perhaps I can see whether it still exists and take some photos of it. I really enjoy interacting with my readers so thank you.

This is a song sang by one of the Games Art Lecturers. He lives alone and used singing to get him through lockdown https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10159422872800439&id=658015438
