So today I decided to have an easy day, more about that shortly. I have also taken the decision that I will not blog on Sundays or bank holidays. There are a number of the latter in May. I will let you know when they are nearer the time.
Firstly though; I would like to thank everyone who read, commented or left a like on yesterday’s blog post. As I’m sure you can appreciate, I was nervous about writing and posting it however I have had some fantastic responses. I was pleased to see that it was not just women of my age who commented but also younger women too. So I’m glad that I did it. In starting this blog I intended it to be a forum in which it would be possible to discuss issues that face women. If there are any issues that you would like to discuss or think that you would like to see me writing about, do let me know and I will see what I can do. You can private message me via Facebook should you wish to do so.
So today I have been taking it easy. I finished reading a book. It is one of the best that I have read recently. The other girl, C. D. Major, I am not going to discuss the plot here but I enjoyed it and there was a bit of an unexpected twist at the end. Afterwards I spent a couple of hours watching crochet videos looking at different stitches and how they can be incorporated into pieces of work. I like seeing how different people start and finish pieces as well as giving me the opportunity to consider how I might begin to design pieces.
As I have said before we usually cook from scratch every day. Now whilst I go through phases of really enjoying cooking at other times I find it boring and that it takes up too much of my time that could be spent outside or crocheting or painting. So today I have put together a risotto that I am cooking in the slow cooker. I will let you know how it goes and if it works well, I’ll post the recipe.
Spring is really springing here. So the dogs and I went for a long walk and I took photographs of the wild flowers along the way. I can’t name them all; so perhaps if you know what they are then you could let me know. I also photographed a tree that during the winter appeared to have fallen over. Unbelievably there are catkins growing on it; evidence that it is surviving.

I hope you all have a good weekend and I will catch up with you all again on Monday.
