Getting on with things

Today has been a reasonably productive day. I have been builders mate for part of the day and then I moved on to some crochet. I have also spent time looking at patterns.

So our loft area is boarded and mostly insulated however it is not what could be called a room at the moment. The layout of our cottage is such that at the moment we only actually have one bedroom. What would have once been a bedroom is our lounge because our kitchen is big enough as a kitchen diner, but not large enough to use as a lounge as well. I am hoping that our sons will be able to come over at some point this year. So sorting a comfortable space for them is becoming a priority. Whilst it might not appear that much was achieved today, significant progress has been made. At the same time a good deal of rubbish and items that need to go to the shed have been removed thus making it easier to move and work in the space. I am hoping that over the next few days we may make some further progress here. There will be a stage in which it will resemble a Swedish sauna; however we will be painting it and furnishing it so that it doesn’t!

I have a client that has asked me to make a poncho for his mother. I decided that I might try some different styles of granny squares for this project. At the moment I haven’t decided quite what I am doing or how I’m going to do it. However these are some of my initial squares that may or may not make it into the final project.

I have also started working on something for myself. I feel that when I go to markets it is a good idea if I am wearing something that I have made. So again this is based on a type of granny square. This is quite different to some of the more usual squares. I will see how I get on with it. The pattern is for a waterfall cardigan which I like the idea of, so I’ll give it a go.
